"I played under Mahi bhai and he is a world class captain and people should not compare him to Smith. He is still a world class leader," Rahane said at the post-match press conference.
"He was giving inputs to Smith - he is learning from MS Dhoni, I saw he was taking advice from MS Dhoni and he will take more advice from him.
"Smith has obviously done well for Australia but for me MS Dhoni is still the best leader," Rahane said.
However, it was smooth sailing for Steve Smith on Thursday, who had taken over the reins as Rising Pune Supergiant captain from Dhoni after a dismal time for the team in 2016.
Ainkya Rahane, who played a key role for RPS in their seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians, said Smith was constantly taking inputs from Dhoni and he was learning from one of the greatest captains in history. Rahane also dissuaded people from drawing any comparisons between Dhoni and Smith as captains.

MSdhoni trolled Kevin Pietersen during the match - (Full Conversation)

Mumbai Indians' innings against Rising Pune Supergiant got underway, the witty Pietersen, on commentary duty, decided to have some fun.

He was speaking to Manoj Tirway, who was wired in and fielding at slip next to Dhoni. Pietersen asked Tiwary to tell Dhoni that he was a better golfer than the former India skipper.
Dhoni was prompt with his reply and Tiwary repeated that word for word on live air: "Tell him (KP), he is still my first Test wicket." (Harsha Bhogle returns to Indian Premier League commentary box)

This conversation happen at the 2 nd over. Harsha Bhogle asking about Manoj Tiwary and KP interrupted and asked this question to MSDHONI via Manoj Tiwary.

That response left everyone in splits but Dhoni remained cool and carried on with his work with a straight face. Dhoni's dry sense of humour is legendary in cricket circles. He has taken hardened journalists by surprise with his quick wit. In fact, the Jharkhand wicketkeeper can often be heard mouthing his trademark one-liners. This is the first time Dhoni is playing the IPL as a regular player.

He was replaced as captain by Steve Smith. Dhoni is the most-capped IPL player in history and led Chennai Super Kings to two triumphs in the 10-year-old tournament.
