The Man who Won Bronze medal in Bejing 2008 and won Silver medal in London 2012. But He hadn't selected for Rio 2016. This is so insane for sushil kumar's fan. The reason is,
A Quota Place in Olympics is about how many players can represent a country in a given event. This means an athlete’s participation is not guaranteed by his ranking in the world, but by that in his home country.
For example, if a nation has world No. 1, 2 and 3 athletes, but has only two quota places, the three need to compete among themselves to secure the two quota places. The eliminated athlete, even if he or she’s better than the others at the world level, can go to the Olympics only at the invitation of the world body of the respective sport or through open qualifying events.
This issue has gained prominence after Olympic bronze-winning wrestler Sushil Kumar has been left hanging by the Quota Place system after his reclassification from the 68kg to the 74kg weight category. Each nation can win only one quota place in every weight class. India has won eight out of a maximum 18 available spots and this will be the biggest ever wrestling squad to compete in the Olympics from the country.
Fellow wrestler Narsingh earned the only quota place for the country by winning a bronze medal in the Las Vegas world championship in the 74kg category in 2015. Sushil, who could not compete in Las Vegas due to a shoulder injury, has been demanding a trial between them to confirm the quota. As Narsingh refused, Sushil may move court.
