In Sydny 2000, he participated his first Olympics Game, He was 19 years Old and won the Gold Medal in Freestyle Swimming competiition. and He Followed up on his olympic success by winning Gold in the 50 m and 100 m freestyle Events at the 2001 world Chmapionships.

He spent the next few years traveling the world. He explored new Interests such as higher Education, Music, Tatoos and meditation and In 2005, He put his Gold medal up for Auction to raise money for tsunami Victims in Asia. He would rediscover his love for water at the "Imagine school of swimming" in new york city.
Teaching Kids to swim and seeing the joy it brought them sparked a newfound motivation for Ervin. Finally he decided to comeback to Olympics and he competed in 2012 Olympics. 12 years after his last olympics, Ervin resurfaced at the London 2012 Games. But that was not his day. he finished 5th in 50m Freestyle. Manaudou is the person from Russia who captured Gold while Ervin, After a poor Start, Finished 5th

At 35 years Old, Ervin was back on the main stage for the Rio 2016 Games. Looking to reclaim the Gold Medal he had won 16 years before at sydney 2000. To achieve this Goal, He would have to outswim seven strong competitors.
