"I don't think I meet the qualification criteria, have only been the CAB president for 6-7 months," Ganguly told reporters.
Ganguly had met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, on Wednesday. He was quoted saying: "I am thankful to my colleagues for giving me this responsibility. If the 117 members agree, I will take over the responsibility, will try and do the best.
. A CAB official had said: “"It's obvious that Sourav went to Writers' to talk cricket. Everybody knows that Madam is fond of Sourav. Who knows, she may even support his bid to become CAB president."
and He added,"Look, he has yet to complete a term as an office-bearer. Simply put, he is a novice in cricket administration. Yet he wants to become president right away. But he must remember that there are others who are much, much senior to him.”
